Gratitude is a common theme for families at Stepping Stones. They are grateful for our advocate’s support when they call our helpline, grateful for a safe place to sleep when they have nowhere to turn, and grateful for all the changes they are able to make for themselves and their children while they are with us. And in turn, we are so grateful that we can be here 24/7/365 to help families find the safety, healing, and hope that they need to change their lives and live free from all forms of abuse.
Take a look at this special note from a woman who lived with us years ago and shared about her gratitude:
I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the support and assistance you provided during a challenging time in my life. Thanks to your team, the meetings, and the fellowship, I was able to find strength, clarity, and hope to leave a difficult domestic situation.
I am now living in a different state, completely out of that relationship, with no connection or contact and enjoying a healthy, sober environment. I continue to attend meetings regularly, work with my sponsor, and am actively working towards becoming a sponsor myself.
Thank you for believing in me and for being a vital part of my journey to freedom and recovery. Your compassion and support made all the difference. I can never thank you all enough for the unconditional love and support you all have shown me! I love you all!!!

45 Years of Gratitude
Can you be filled with gratitude for 45 years? Here at Stepping Stones, we think you can!
Since 1980, we have experienced so much gratitude because of the support we received from friends in our community to ensure our doors are open at shelter every day of the year, for the shopping at our thrift store, and for the families who call us and find the support they need to live free from abuse.
Gratitude is more than feeling thankful for us, it’s empowerment to keep our 24/7/365 advocacy services running and our shelter ready for any family in need to walk through the doors.
Thank you for supporting families with us – we truly could not do it without you.
