Step One Coffee House serves the community as a great place to meet with clients or friends for a great cup of coffee and a friendly atmosphere, but it is so much more than a coffee house! Every time you choose Step One Coffee House, you to give a helping hand to local families who are escaping violence and abuse. All proceeds go to our shelter and advocacy programs to help families leave behind the chaos and pain, and take steps forward into a healthy future.
Like Stepping Stones Thrift Stores, the coffee house also focuses on supporting the community by providing paid job training through the Employment Enhancement Opportunities Program (EEOP). EEOP provides adults in our programs and from the community an opportunity to learn important job skills and training while earning a paycheck. In the coffee house, EEOP associates are able to learn customer service, food prep, and barista skills in order to find long term, permanent employment in the community.
Finally, the Step One Coffee House Wall of Resources provides the community with a space to find resources for 12-step recovery, local not-for-profits, and other service agencies. From Big Books to brochures on parenting classes, the coffee house is there for anyone who is looking for support.
