Leaving an abusive relationship is not the end of a person’s story — it is the beginning. Domestic violence often steals confidence, independence, and a sense of identity. Survivors may spend months or years focused on survival, but healing creates space to rebuild their lives.

Discovering potential after domestic violence starts with recognizing strength. The courage it takes to leave, call Stepping Stones’ helpline, come to shelter, and simply keep moving forward is evidence of resilience already within. Small steps, such as working with advocates to set personal goals and rebuilding healthy relationships can help survivors regain confidence and create a new vision for their future.

Supportive fellowship also plays an important role in this journey. Finding places where ongoing support can happen after their time at Stepping Stones is finished is important for them to remember they are not alone and their experiences do not define them.

If you or someone you know needs support because of domestic violence and other abuse, call our 24/7 Helpline at 928-445-4673.

Potential for Happy Futures!

  • 100% reported they are confident they will remain free from abuse.
  • 100% reported they are completing their goals.
  • 100% reported they know how to access ongoing support from community resources.
