SERVICE is at the core of what Stepping Stones does in our community. From our advocates to our volunteers, service is the reason why our doors are open 24/7/365 for anyone needing support because of domestic violence and other forms of abuse.

Check out these three ways we serve:

Advocacy and support: In 2025, our advocates provided over 7,000 hours of face-to-face advocacy services to local families affected by domestic violence or other forms of victimization. Those thousands of hours last year supported families through crisis counseling, educational support groups, criminal justice advocacy, and safety planning. As families put in the hard work to make changes in their lives, our advocates are there to support them through each step.

Volunteers: We have many awesome volunteers who serve the community with us! Many give their time in our thrift store assisting with sorting, restocking shelves, and helping customers find those special treasures. Others choose to volunteer in our office or advocacy program. These awesome volunteers provide staff and advocates with the extra hands they need to help families move away from abuse and into healthy, positive futures. If you are interested in volunteering, call Khrystyna at 928-772-4184.

Community Education: We believe that our community is the best at helping connect those who need help to our services. There are many who may come through the doors of your office, clinic, church, or book club who are suffering from past or current violence. What can you do to help them? Stepping Stones is here to provide resources to community businesses and groups who would like to learn more about our services and keep resources on hand to help anyone who needs our services. If you are interested in having our team present to your group, please call Alexis at 928-772-4184.

If you or someone you know needs support because of domestic violence and other forms of abuse, call our 24/7 Helpline at 928-445-4673.

Advocates Provide 24/7 Service

Our advocates work around the clocks to make sure our helpline is always answered and families can get to safety. Adults complete an anonymous survey upon exit to provide feedback. Outcomes reported from January 1 – December 31, 2025 include:

  • 100% reported the advocates were available and helpful when I needed assistance.
  • 96% reported their safety planning sessions were helpful.
  • 96% reported they know how to access ongoing support from community resources.
