Because of the amazing community support we’ve received over the years, families have been able to find safety, healing, and hope through our safe emergency shelter and advocacy support services.
Our community friends have participated in so many different ways to support families at Stepping Stones. From attending events to donating to shopping at our thrift store, we have 45 years of memories with our friends.
If you are looking for more ways to get involved and support families with us, we invite you to come by our office and chat with our team! We are so GRATEFUL that because of our community, families are able to find freedom from abuse every day!

Community Resources Provide Ongoing Support
Advocates at Stepping Stones provide crisis and ongoing advocacy support for adults and children who come to us. But, we know that there are all kinds of different services and support that families will need outside what our advocates can provide. It’s important that adults get the resource connections they need in the community so that they can continue to receive support long after they leave Stepping Stones.
Adults complete an anonymous survey upon exit to provide feedback. From January 1 through December 31, 2024:
- 100% reported they increased knowledge of services available to them.
- 100% reported they have an increased understanding of their legal rights.
- 100% reported they feel secure with their connections and ability to access ongoing justice advocacy and support.
- 100% reported they felt confident they would be free from abuse even after leaving Stepping Stones.
