In Memory: Reverend Blair Griffin
We are remembering a long time Stepping Stones supporter, Reverend Blair Griffin, lovingly known throughout Stepping Stones as “the Zebra lady.” Her zebra designs, whether paintings, quilts or t-shirts, were celebrated among our residents for years, and her thoughtfulness for the families suffering from domestic violence and abuse with us will always be remembered.
Thank you Miss “Z” for sharing years of not only your art, creativity, and generosity, but also your grace and caring heart. And, your recent legacy gift will continue to help families in our safe shelter live lives free from all forms of violence. We are grateful you are a part of our Stepping Stones family, and you will be missed.
“I remember when I got my zebra shirt and quilt when I was living in shelter. The drawing and note that “Miss Z loves me” made me feel cared about when I really didn’t think anyone could care about me. I still have the shirt and I wear it to sleep. It’s a reminder of how I persevered through one of the hardest times in my life.” – Kay, former shelter resident
