Whether you’re a DIY master or simply looking for inexpensive ways to create a happy home, the Stepping Stones Thrift Stores offer a variety of used furniture, housewares, books, games, sporting goods, and more. But our thrift stores are more than just places to find special treasures.
Our stores give women a chance to say “NO MORE” to an abusive partner. Children have a chance to play and grow without fear. And families are
empowered to create positive futures. Stepping Stones Thrift provides families with so much more than a place to shop – it provides hope for a future free from all forms of victimization.
Each time you shop at our thrift stores, you are helping to provide a future for families who are regaining control of their lives. The associates in the store work hard to receive, sort, price, and display donations for customers seeking out special treasures. Our thrift stores also serve as a place where adults receiving services can also gain paid job training in order to help them learn new skills and find permanent employment in our community.
When you donate to Stepping Stones thrift, your items allow us to serve local families 24/7/365. Donated goods and proceeds from the sales always stay local. Your choice to donate to Stepping Stones Thrift allows us to always be available when crisis occurs – whether it is the middle of the night or a weekend afternoon. We couldn’t do it without you!
Over several the years my wife and I contributed many expensive and in near new condition items to Stepping stones. Almost always delivering them to your store. They were always well received by your staff. When we moved from our home we moved a whole trailer load of like new tools, leaf blowers, vacuums, etc to you thrift store. This last move due to declining health we requested that a beautiful two twin bed mahogany sleigh type set of bed frames be picked up. These beds were worth hundreds of dollars. While they picked up several other items in excellent condition they said they could not take these as the mattresses were still on them; We told them when we would be moving the mattresses to our assisted living apartment. The driver phoned your office and set up a specific date and time they would pick the mahogany sleigh frames.. It was to be the afternoon of our move. We paid movers to pack and move us due to our failing health. Due to our health and disability issues,on the day of the move Willow Wind provided us with a room to rest in during the move. .In a couple of days , we became strong enough to return our keys to the manager. Who pointed out the condition of our apartment and that the Sleigh bed frame were still there and as they were, Windsong Villas declared it still occupied and refused to refund our room and board.for that time when we were actually out of the apartment We also ended up having to pay for having the bed frames removed. I phoned to let Stepping Stones know what happened, she apologized and said she would have a manager call me back – no one ever called. Which was totally unlike my past feedback from Stepping Stones. We still believe and support the services Stepping Stones provides to Women and families in our community
Hi Donald – Our manager will be in touch with you via your email provided shortly. Thank you for your feedback as we know that is the only way we can continue to improve our service to the community.
