Economic independence is a big part of addressing the issues of self-sufficiency for the families that Stepping Stones serves. Steps to Success is a partnership with local employment service programs such as NACOG and other social service organizations to provide free industry-appropriate interview attire and “first day wear” to individuals with that need. From suits to scrubs to steel-toed boots, Steps to Success helps meet every employment-related need. With the help of many dedicated and qualified volunteers, the Steps to Success program helps to promote confidence and professionalism to local job seekers referred to the program from our partners. Our volunteers also can provide additional help with resume preparation, job searches, interview techniques, and technical skills improvement.
Steps to Success will also offer a variety of workshops and classes. Many of these programs are currently mandatory continuing-education units for social workers, nurses, behavioral health technicians, etc. in order for them to obtain licensing or contract requirements. Currently, most of these professionals must travel to Phoenix, Tucson or Flagstaff to meet these requirements and the cost is at least $100 for a one-day class. With Steps to Success, we are able to offer many of these classes locally and affordably. And it is a great opportunity to customize trainings for West Yavapai County – something that other training programs cannot provide.
